The Utah AI Policy Act was originally set to expire on May 7, 2025, and SB 332, titled Artificial Intelligence Revisions, extends its life instead. The new repeal date is July 1, 2027. The extension has been in effect since May 7, 2025.
What the Utah AI Policy Act Extension Preserves
Utah’s AI disclosure rules stay in force under the extension. The AI Learning Laboratory program continues operating as well.
Why It Matters
The state keeps iterating on its AI framework while these rules remain active. Businesses subject to Utah’s AI disclosure requirements should plan for compliance through at least July 2027 rather than treating the original sunset as the end of the rules.
SB 332 is a short bill with a simple effect, but it matters for planning. Compliance programs built for the AI Policy Act should stay funded and active into 2027.
